CO-FOUNDER
Golf for me has been something that I was fortunate enough to stumble upon at an early age. My father taught me a lot of life lessons, on and off the golf course. Golfing with my father is one of the fondest childhood memories I have. I joined the Marine Corps in 2009 and took a break from playing due to an increasingly difficult work schedule and deployment up-tempo demands. I separated from the Marine Corps, honorably, on January 2017 and slowly found myself having mental difficulties and loss of motivation. Through multiple veteran golfing programs I found my passion again and started to play competitively. Golf has had a great impact on my life both physically and mentally. The one thing I have learned living in and around the Sacramento area was the lack of golf tournaments, especially tournaments that really catered to the veteran community. Veterans love comradery and competition. I have yet to meet a veteran who isn’t competitive in the things that he or she does. That is why we have founded the USMGC. To give veterans the opportunity to build more cohesive friendships through sport and competition.
Through competition, comes recovery.
